Krichev
The city of Krichev is located in the east of Belarus in the Mogilev region on the banks of the Sozh River. The first written mention of Krichev dates back to 1136, when a settlement called Krechut is mentioned among the cities paying tribute to the Smolensk prince Rostislav. In 1359 the city became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The largest manufacturer of building materials OJSC Krichevcementnoshifer, a rubber-technical plant branch of OJSC Belshina, and the Krichevsky plant of reinforced concrete products operate in the city. The population of the city is about 25,000 people.
