Khoiniki
Khoiniki is a city in the south of the Republic of Belarus in the Gomel region. The administration of the Polessky State Radiation and Ecological Reserve, created after the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant, is located in Khoiniki. There are four kindergartens, four schools in the city, including a gymnasium, Khoiniki State College, a preschool child development center, a center for children and youth creativity, a center for correctional and developmental education and rehabilitation, and a socio-pedagogical center. The Khoiniki Museum of Local Lore presents expositions: History of the estate; The nature of the native land; History and ethnography; The Great Patriotic War; About the genocide of the Belarusian people; Modern history of the area; Exposition "The Tragedy of Chernobyl". About 13 thousand people live in Khoiniki.
