Ivye
Ivye is a small town in the Grodno region in the west of Belarus. There is a legend that tells about the founding of the city by Eve - the wife of the Grand Duke of Lithuania Gedemin. In written sources, the settlement was first mentioned in 1444 as a grand-ducal court, presented by Prince Casimir IV to Peter Montygerdovich, who held the position of a court marshal of Lithuania. According to one version, the name Ivye comes from the Finno-Ugric "yiv" - "the source of the river." In Ivye there was an Arian printing house. The Arian school operated here, the rector of which in 1585-1593. was a well-known teacher and thinker in the 16th century, Jan Licinius Namyslovsky. About 7 thousand inhabitants live in Ivye.
