Braslav
Resort town with a population of about ten thousand people. It is located in the northwestern part of Belarus on the northern shore of Lake Drivyaty. Since the XIV century, Braslav became part of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and was in the possession of the Grand Duke Gediminas, then his son Yavnut. Until recently, the only prevailing version was the origin of the name Braslav on behalf of Bryachislav Izyaslavich, the grandson of Rogneda. Braslav is surrounded by a group of more than 50 lakes, interconnected by rivers and channels. Within the boundaries of Braslav there are three lakes - Novyato, Berezhye and Drivyaty. The latter, with an area of 36.1 sq. km, has the status of the largest in the Braslav region and the fifth largest in the country. It is from here that many water trips begin.
