Bereza
Bereza City in the Brest region. In 1617, Bereza became the property of the chancellor of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, Leo Sapieha, who first of all founded a new Catholic church here (the former one, after being in the hands of the Calvinists for more than half a century, finally became impoverished). In 1629, Sapieha also allowed the local Jews to open a school and a synagogue. At that time, the Uniate Church already existed in the city.
